We can set up an appointment if you'd like to discuss the issues you've been having and if it is possible that there's an appropriate medicine that could help you out. We will meet on a regular basis to check in and see how things are going for you. I use evidence-based prescribing practices and current APA guidelines, but I always consider case particulars and include you in the medical decision making process.
Whether you have problems you need help solving, past traumas you would like to work through, or would just like to know yourself better, talk therapy can be a healing and enlightening experience. I practice eclectic psychotherapy, bringing in techniques from relational therapy, psychodynamic theory, CBT, DBT, and interpersonal therapy to best suit your individual needs.
Psychiatric Consultation or Second Opinion
Many people are uncertain if they need or want to be in treatment or what kind of treatment would best suit their needs. Others are already in treatment, but don’t know if what their practitioners are doing is reasonable. Scheduling a consultation does not mean you are committing to any type of treatment. Even if you are not sure what exactly you are looking for, I am here to help guide you through the many resources available in the mental health world. If I cannot offer exactly what you are looking for, we can discuss what that might be and where you might find it.
If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant we can work together to come up with a treatment plan that you feel best supports your needs and the needs of your family. I have done research on the prescribing practices of psychiatrists for women of reproductive age and care that women receive adequate and appropriate treatment during this delicate time.
I offer telepsychiatry appointments using Skype through the internet. While I personally prefer to meet with people face-to-face, and encourage all my clients to come to the office, telepsychiatry is a good option for people who are too busy to make it to the office or too medically or psychiatrically ill to leave their homes.
Home and Work Office Visits
I can also provide home or work office visits to clients who might be too busy to make it to my office, but would still like to meet in person. Home visits may also be a good option for clients who can’t leave home due to a medical or psychiatric illness. A home visit should never replace calling 911 if you are having an emergency. My ability to travel to your home or office will be location and schedule dependent and may incur an additional fee dependent on the duration of travel.
Literature search and review
If there a questions you would like answered that are not part of the standard treatment guidelines, I can provide case-specific research, ranging from printing up-to-date relevant articles with my personal interpretation to written reports.
