About Laura Baur
Dr. Laura Baur completed her psychiatry training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City and specializes in pharmacologic treatment of psychiatric disorders as well as multimodal psychotherapy.
Dr. Baur has a neuroscience research background and dedication to a scientific evidence-based approach to her practice. She attended medical school at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons where she earned her MD as well as an MA in neuroscience for her research on neurodegenerative diseases. She completed a research fellowship on depression and anxiety disorders at the Max-Planck Institute for psychiatry in Munich Germany.
In addition, Dr. Baur was a founding member of the personalized medical research company MetaMed, where she performed as a medical advisor and research supervisor.
She takes personal interest in evidenced-based medicine and taking the time to perform problem-specific literature review and analysis.
During her spare time she participates in community events promoting awareness of cognitive biases and improvement of critical thinking skills.
Complimentary to her science background, Dr. Baur values forging a strong therapeutic alliance within her psychotherapy practice and uses modern dynamic and relational approaches. She completed a fellowship at the White Institute’s Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program. She has also completed training at the Integrative Psychiatric Instutiute’s training in psychedelic assisted therapy.
